Nukeni, which publishes international price comparisons for Apple products, has calculated the tax-free price of the iPhone 15 series in 38 countries and territories.
The survey results show that tax-free prices in Japan are the lowest in the world for 12 of the 13 iPhone 15 series models.
This low tax-free price of the iPhone 15 series in Japan indicates that overseas tourists from other countries may be encouraged to choose Japan as a travel destination.
In the case of Korea, where Japan is an easy candidate as an overseas travel destination, Korean tourists visiting Japan can purchase the iPhone15 128GB version for about $157 less and the iPhone15 Max Pro 256GB version for about $237 less.
While South Korea is classified as a country where iPhones are cheap, with all models within the top 10 in the ranking of countries where the iPhone 15 series is cheap, there are ample financial advantages to purchasing an iPhone in Japan.
The top three cheapest countries were mainly Japan, China, and the United States. However, since the U.S. does not have a tax-free system for overseas tourists in the first place, prices are the same as regular prices.
See below for detailed results. (Exchange rates as of October 4 were applied for currency conversions)
* Because tax rates in the U.S. and Canada vary depending on the location of purchase, two prices may be included in the ranking: one for the lowest tax location and one for the highest tax location.
